The Eden Guide to Tired & Puffy Eyes

It’s that time of year again… the festive season has come and gone, you have been back at work for a while and well… you are tired, and your face has it written all over it. Tired- looking eyes, accentuated by dark circles, lines, bags and puffiness are not only a dead giveaway of your lack of sleep, but they also create a much more aged appearance.

At the Eden Institute, we see a range of patients, of varying ages, that come in to express concerns with their eyes, and the majority of the time their goal is to create an overall younger and more youthful look. Continue reading if you’ve been feeling concerned with your eyes and would love to banish that puffiness forever!

  1. Blepharoplasty

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty) is the permanent solutions to all your eye concerns! The surgery can be performed on both the upper eyelid and the lower eyelid. The procedure involves making an incision along either the natural eyelid creases (Upper Eyelid Surgery) or just below the lower lash line (Lower Eyelid Surgery) in order to disguise scars. Any excess skin is then removed and the muscle is tightened slightly to lift the eye area. Eyelid surgery helps to refresh that tired, aged look, creating a lively and youthful look. In most cases, upper eyelid surgery can be completed under a local anaesthetic at Eden’s fully purposed clinic. Why not book in for a consultation to discuss your options today?

  1. Wrinkle Relaxers

If you’re after a quick fix to get rid of those pesky fine lines and wrinkles surrounding your eyes, look no further than Wrinkle Relaxers. Wrinkles are created when two sets of muscles, called the corrugators and procerus muscles, which lie beneath the skin between your eyebrows repeatedly contract. Contracting these muscles causes vertical frown lines, called glabellar lines, to appear. As well as this, many people also have lines on the sides of their eyes, commonly referred to as ‘crow’s feet’. Over time, these small, faint lines can develop deeper into the skin, creating a more aged and tired appearance. Wrinkle Relaxers or Anti-Wrinkle Injections, are injected into the target treatment area to reduce the muscle’s ability to contract, which then results in a smooth, less wrinkled appearance, hence, creating that more youthful and rejuvenated look that we all long for.

  1. Dermal Fillers

As we age, we lose facial volume and collagen. Dermal Fillers are used to restore volume, enhance natural contours and reduce wrinkles and fine lines, rejuvenating your overall appearance in a natural-looking way! For example, under-eye hollows can make our eyes look tired and deflated, adding on years to our appearance. There are numerous types of Dermal Fillers, all composed of different substances, and here at The Eden Institute we will always advise our clients which products will address their concerns best. When injected under the skin by one of our skilled professionals at The Eden Institute, these fillers immediately plump up facial areas that have lost volume due to ageing, creating an overall more natural and refreshed look.

Dermal Fillers and Wrinkle Relaxers are great options that will leave you with younger and rejuvenated looking skin. It is important to know that these products will be naturally absorbed by the body over time, and the area will need to be treated again.
