Cougar Life – Tummy Tuck and Breast Lift – What can I expect during and Post-Surgery?

There are few things in life that are as rewarding as being a mum, and you have no doubt dedicated months and years to your children, but now, it’s time for you.

Stretchy stomach skin and saggy breasts are a natural part of pregnancy, yet it’s not always as easy as it may seem to bounce back to your pre-baby shape, even with strict diets and strenuous exercise.

A Mummy Makeover is more than just a deluxe facial – it’s a highly customized combination of plastic surgeries to help you regain the confidence you had before pregnancy and childbirth – allowing you to get back on track to looking and feeling your very best!

Whether you want to tackle your breasts or stomach, Dr Edinburg can help you to decide which surgical option is right for you! He has many years of Specialist Plastic Surgery experience, and can use his expertise to help you plan a path that is appropriate for you.

Understandably, these surgeries often seem overwhelming, but here at The Eden Institute we will be there to fully educate you, and talk you through each stage of the procedure, making sure you feel totally comfortable and at ease.

So, what can you expect from Breast Lift Surgery?

Breast Lift surgery involves lifting and reshaping already existing breast tissue to improve breast contour and firmness. The procedure may also involve repositioning the nipple and areola and, if necessary, reducing the size of the enlarged areolas.

Breast Lift surgery benefits anyone who has droopy breasts. This may be significant after childbearing, weight loss, or can just be due to the consequences of ageing. If breast emptiness is also a problem then implants can be used to give bring back that youthful fullness.

Generally, mothers who have breastfed and those who have experienced significant weight loss experience the most benefits from Breast Lift Surgery. Patients who have sagging breasts but are happy with the size and position of their breasts would benefit from a breast lift as it can restore fullness and help the breasts sit in a way that improves cleavage.

What about a Tummy Tuck?

Tummy tuck surgery (also known as Abdominoplasty) can help to contour your abdominal region creating flatter stomach contours as well as smoothing and tightening the belly skin, creating a natural looking waistline without sagging folds of skin.

Following tummy tuck surgery, most patients can make a full return to physical activity in as little as six weeks, and typically are able to return to work within 2 weeks. During this time, getting enough rest is important to ensure your body heals and recovers effectively.

Tummy tucks are most effective for patients who are close to their ideal weight but have loose abdominal skin – in particular mothers who have given birth and have struggled to lose that extra bit of belly skin. Or just those of us who have developed that little ‘apron’ of overhanging skin over time.

Some of our patients also choose to have liposuction at the same time as their tummy tucks to the hips area, or lower back. It all depends on you, your body, and your situation.

Could either of these surgeries be for you? Why not give us a call here at The Eden Institute on 8814 5800 to book in for a consultation to see which treatment would be right for you?!
