4 Facts About Medical Grade Microdermabrasion

Medical Grade MicrodermabrasionIf you’ve ever wanted to try Medical –Grade Microdermabrasion, or just want to know more before committing to a treatment, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know to make the best decision for your skin.

What is it?

At Eden, we use crystal- free microdermabrasion to gently ‘lift’ the dead layers of the skin,  to reveal a smoother and more youthful appearance. The treatment is suitable for most skin concerns and works best on skin problems such as dull, dehydrated skin, brown and age spots, fine lines and acne scars. A typical treatment session takes around 45 minutes.

Does it hurt?

It may feel a little bit scratchy but very few of our patients feel any discomfort during the treatment, it’s just a very intense exfoliation. Best of all, because it’s quick and non-invasive, Medical –Grade Microdermabrasion doesn’t disrupt your normal daily activities. While your face may be slightly red as we finish the treatment, most people find they can go back to work the same day.

We do recommend that our clients use Medical-Grade Skincare products to make the most of your new skin and continue the benefits of the Medical-Grade Microdermabrasion treatment. These products contain a higher concentration of active ingredients than your usual supermarket-available products. The ingredients are formulated to help support and prolong treatment results. Our trained treatment professionals will help guide you through these pre- and post-treatment recommended products, including Medical Grade Mineral Makeup which will help cover any slight redness, protect and also support the Microdermabrasion benefits.

What can it do?

It’s a great way to refine or minimise pores, control breakouts and minimise acne scars or the appearance of fine lines . It also allows for a deeper penetration of active products into the epidermis. And if your skin is looking dull, lifeless and discoloured, it’s a simple way to put the glow back into your skin, as the treatment stimulates collagen production and cell turnover – the basis of youthful, firm skin. Microdermabrasion can be performed on the face, neck, back, and the hands – a sure giveaway of age and ageing.

And, if you want to give your skin an even bigger boost, speak to us about our new 3-in-1 combination treatment- it includes  microdermabrasion, microinfusion and LED treatment. And all with no downtime.

When will I see results?

Your skin will immediately look smoother and more refined and will continue to improve over several days following your treatment. Since all people’s skin responds differently to the treatment, it’s best to discuss your needs, and your expectations with us. We usually recommend 3-6 treatments, every 2 – 4 weeks, for maximum results. Our Registered Nurse and Skin Therapist will be able to recommend the best treatment plan for your skin, which may also include a combination of other therapies, such as medical grade skin peels, laser rejuvenation or cosmetic injections.
