There is no doubt that ‘Plastic Surgery Tourism’ is on the rise, as increasingly more people are jet-setting to countries like Thailand to undergo Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery. Prices may be cheaper but are you truly aware of the difference, and potential risks associated with undergoing surgery overseas? You often pay for what you get so it’s important to be cautious, especially when it’s about surgery on your face or body.
So before you begin to make travel plans to Thailand, keep in mind the following questions and considerations:
1) Do you know your Plastic Surgeon and will they provide all the comprehensive services that you need?
As a Specialist Plastic Surgeon, I have years of specialist training and meet my clients one on one, to ensure that every experience is personalised – both before and after surgery. After all, every patient is unique and deserves unique treatment. This isn’t often a guarantee when you seek surgery overseas like in Thailand.
For example, will you meet your surgeon in Thailand well in advance to have a proper discussion and consultation? Will he or she develop a course of treatment catered specifically to you? Are you comfortable that your surgeon will understand exactly what you want to achieve? These are all questions to keep in mind.
